June Green serves as the primary point of contact for students, faculty and applicants for the Molecular Microbiology and Immunology Program. She has been involved with the students in the program since 1989 and has held the position of Coordinator for the last 5 years. Ms. Green always makes time to interact with prospective students as well as current students and faculty. Ms. Green is noted for her ability to find the answers to student and faculty questions she in a very timely manner. Do not hesitate in contacting her by phone, email or in person.
Her duties include, but are not limited to:
- Overseeing the daily program operations and long range program activities
- Assist students in all areas
- Spearhead recruitment efforts and represents the program at recruitment fairs
- Assists in the interviewing and admission of Students
- Maintains the Employee Funding Profiles of GPILS Students including accounting coordination with multiple departments, programs and training grants
- Management of Program budget, tracking expenditures and other accounting duties
- Organization of the yearly Graduate Student Presentations and Faculty Research Presentations
- Assist the Program Director as required
- Assist in the preparation of grant reports, proposals and renewals
In addition, Ms. Green received the campus Employee of the Month award in June, 2005. Her other campus-wide activities have included chairing the Department of Microbiology and Immunology's Maryland Charities Campaign for over 5 years and serving as a Staff Senator for 2 terms. In her private life Ms. Green also volunteers with groups such as Single Volunteers of Baltimore and Annapolis and the Hippodrome Theater.
